The Chinese Horoscope Zodiac Animal Sign

Why does our website tell people's Chinese Zodiac Animal Sign different from the other sites?

Many Chinese horoscope sites determine people's Chinese astrological sign by the Chinese New Year's day. In Chinese astrology calendar, the first day of the year isn't the Chinese New Year's day, is the day of Start of Spring, which is the first day of the Tiger month. That means some people were born in January or February might be given a different answer from different Chinese astrology or horoscope sites.

Also, In Chinese astrology, the animal sign represents a person is from their birthday, not the birth year. We tell people's animal sign using their birthday and use the statement like "You are a Tiger and were born in year of Dragon". To find your horoscope sign is to click here.

I wasn't born in January or February. Why my Chinese Zodiac Animal Sign is different from other sites?

In Chinese Astrology, the Chinese Zodiac Sign of birthday represents the person, not the Animal Sign from the birth year. You can see your Chinese Astrology Birth Chart from the Find Your Lucky Element page. For example, 1970 is a White Dog Year. If you were born on June 15, 1970, then the page will say "You are Red Tiger (Day),  born in the year of White Dog". Many Chinese Zodiac sites don't have Chinese Astrology Calendar, they don't know the Chinese Zodiac Sign of a birthday.

Will be the Result of the Chinese Fortune-Telling Different Using Birth Year or Birthday?

They just use different angles to predict people's fortunes. The result will be similar. To use animal sign of birth year to do the fortune telling means we only have 12 types of person in the world. We have more combinations if using the birthday. Our site is a Chinese Five Elements astrology site. That means we tell people's fortune by Five Elements, not animals.

Using the birth year to tell fortune was far away before Chin Dynasty (221 B.C.), which is the first Dynasty in China. About a thousand years later, Chinese began to use birth year, month and day to predict the fortune during the Tang Dynasty (618 A.D.). To use birth year, month, day and hour to study the fortune like today started in Sung Dynasty (960 A.D.). The reason to make these changes is simple. It's more accurate.

The Chinese astrology treats the Sun is the center of the universe when the view is from the earth. The day is the time of the Sun. So the center point of the birth chart is on the day. Chinese use same Chinese character for day and sun.

The advantage to use birth year horoscope sign is the fortunetellers can tell people's fortune right away without a calendar. Therefore a fortuneteller won't lose a customer not knowing his or her birthday.

However, the horoscope information from the birth year is still very true and valuable. There is no reason to abandon it.
